Abstract

Today, we have difficulty with disposing of the garbage that is produced on a regular basis. Solid trash from industrial, commercial, and residential areas is included in this category. The appropriate daily disposal of household garbage must be given top attention because if it isn't, it will harm public health and detract from aesthetics. An overview of trash management on dumping grounds in the Mumbai area is provided, as well as a list of possible solutions. The contamination of water, air, soil, and human health may be drastically reduced if immediate action is taken in this direction. The paper provides an overview of environmental issues, municipal solid waste environmental standards, development of landscaped landfills using organic waste, environmental assessment of landfills based on stakeholders, treatment of leachate from municipal solid waste landfill, and the impact of a landfill fire on ambient air quality.
